MEMBERSHIP
Works on Team lead by VP of Membership and Membership Team (Team includes Recruitment Chair, Retention Chair, Diversity Chair and Scholarship Chair)
Activities of the committee include:

Coordinates the annual Bring-a-prospective-member luncheon (at one of the monthly chapter programs), working with a Program committee member and a Diversity committee member

Conducts an annual membership campaign (Upon request, once a year, AFP International will send our cover letter and enclosures to our list of prospective members. Free.)

Plans and coordinates New Member Orientation and Mentor Program

Cultivates prospective new AFP diversity members.
-
Coordinates all scholarships for the chapter, including for AFP International Conference, CFRE Exam, Certificate courses, and Introductory membership

Communicates scholarship deadlines and application procedures to the chapter
-
Serves as members of the scholarship selection committee, which will make scholarship decisions as needed. Members are President-Elect, VP Membership, AFP-Arkansas Certificate Chair and CFRE Representative
EDUCATION
Works on Team led by the VP of Education and Education Team (Team includes Program Chair, Certificate Course Chair, CFRE Chair and Web Program Chair)
Activities of the committee include:

Work with Program Chair, Web Program Chair and Education Committee to ensure all Monthly Chapter Programs and Web conferences are planned and executed.

Work with VP Promotions to publicize programs
-
Maintain program records including description, attendance, and a summary of the evaluations.
-
Send electronic copies to the Chapter Administrator for archiving.

Develop a speaker request form which obtains from the speaker information on how the program relates to entry, mid and senior level professionals using the national conference model
-
Handle all facility and catering arrangements
-
Coordinate AFP chapter courses with other educational providers in central Arkansas, including the UALR graduate program in non-profit management, NCPG Arkansas chapter and APRA Arkansas chapter
-
Promote CFRE program by providing CFRE brochures and applications at monthly meetings and Identifies chapter members who qualify for the CFRE process
-
Maintain an updated list of chapter CFRE and recognizes them at chapter functions by supplying CFRE ribbons, available from AFP international office
-
Host annual leadership breakfast and two programs annually for CFRE's, members with 7+ years of experience, CEO's, Board Chair's & Dev Comm Chair's
-
Solicit individually all candidates who are within 3 courses of completing the certificate program

Coordinate group study opportunities
PROMOTIONS
Works on a Team led by VP of Promotions and Promotion Team (Team includes Every Member Campaign Chair, External Communications Chair, Philanthropy Day Logistics Chair and Member Communications Chair)
Activities of the committee include:

Responsible for promoting philanthropy in the community and the chapter’s Philanthropy Day celebration
-
Plan and execute a successful Philanthropy Day in Arkansas luncheon
-
Conduct the chapter’s Every Member Campaign and recognize chapter donors
-
Put information on community calendars, send to Chapter Administrator for the chapter e-blasts, have information available at monthly chapter meetings
-
Produce internal chapter communications and public relations including, but not limited to quarterly chapter newsletters
-
Create ongoing partnerships with media outlets to increase awareness, and visibility of AFP – Arkansas Chapter
-
Produce external chapter communications and public relations including, but not limited to press releases, media relations
-
Create ongoing partnerships with media outlets to increase awareness, and visibility of AFP
-
Create and distribute annual report (to be published in Philanthropy Day program) and send to Chapter Administrator to be placed on website under media outlet page
PHILANTHROPY DAY LOGISTICS
Oversees the following:
LEADERSHIP
Works on Team led by the VP of Leadership and Leadership Team (Team includes Government Relations Chair, Sponsorship Chair and Advocacy Chair)
Activities of the committee include:

Develop strategy to better position AFP members, with focus on executive board, within the business community
-
Cultivate future chapter leaders, increasing number of members in board service and committees each year.
-
Provide leadership training opportunities to cultivate future chapter leaders
-
Make sure that at least six chapter members are serving on AFP international or CFRE committees or boards annually.
-
Encourage members to be involved in government relations at the local, state and federal levels
-
Coordinate visits, as needed, to elected officials at local and state levels and works with the service office for federal visits
-
Make solicitation calls to appropriate companies
-
Write thank you letters to sponsors
-
Obtain ads from sponsors for the program
-
Develop a plan to identify opportunities for AFP members to develop relationships with industry-specific associations such as the Arkansas Hospital Association, Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges, Assoc. of Independent Colleges and Universities, Depts. of Higher Education, Fifty for the Future, Rotary, United Way, etc.

Continue to develop relationships with statewide associations or industry specific associations to create opportunity for senior-level fundraisers and non-profit operational leaders to engage in a conversation on philanthropy (Current partners with ACE, ACF; members of State and local Chamber of Commerce). Asks board members to attend State and local Chamber meetings.
