GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of
educational activities for the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Arkansas (HPCAA) in collaboration with the Executive Director. The position requires some travel. This position will also assist the Executive Director with other duties as directed.
The Education/Event Planner reports directly to the HPCAA Executive Director.
- Plans, implements and evaluates educational programs including but not limited to
- Consults on program agenda in collaboration with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, committees and previous program evaluations.
- Develops registration and promotional materials.
- Serves as primary liaison to venue/facility of program.
- Coordinates speaker contracts and exhibitor applications.
- Implements within the program budget.
- Processes registrations and maintains roster.
- Processes continuing education applications.
- Reviews program evaluations and applies to future planning.
- Other duties as assigned
- Assists with other duties as directed.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead event/education planning is highly preferred. Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and take/give direction. Strong, professional interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work well in a small environment, customer service focus and positive outgoing personality. Excellent writing, editing and communication skills are essential to this position. MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher a must. Experience working with graphic software and audio/visual equipment preferred.
Minimum of two years experience in an office setting performing administrative functions. Experience in education/event planning and implementation highly preferred.
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Ability to travel in personal vehicle, as needed.
Ability to travel by air, as needed.
Ability to stay away from home for multiple nights, as needed.
Ability to work overtime including early and/or late days during peak times.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Proof of auto insurance.
