Jun 4 - Development Assistant
Job Summary: This position works under the direction of the Development Director and performs duties and assignments related to administrative services for the Development Department. Maintains fundraising database. Creates fundraising reports, gift and constituent records, acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders. Maintains and creates office files and resource library. Coordinates small development projects as assigned. Provides administrative and clerical support to the Development Department as needed.
Qualifications: An individual must perform each essential duty (outlined in the performance evaluation) satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Occasional travel and weekend hours required.
Education and/or Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of two years’ experience in related field required. Advanced skills in database management and word processing software, database processing programs required. Experience in Raiser’s Edge preferable. Excellent spelling, proofreading and composition skills required. Must possess reliable transportation and have access to a vehicle for errands, etc. Some experience in non-profit fundraising, public relations and volunteer management highly desired.
Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Must have a basic understanding of calculation of figures for use in patient statistics, account ... more >
May 22 - Special Events Coordinator
The Alzheimer’s Association is seeking a full-time Special Events Coordinator for the Arkansas service area. The successful candidate must be a proven self-starter with excellent judgment and careful attention to detail. Candidate should reside in or near the Central Arkansas area as the position requires travel across the state to plan events and cultivate sponsorships.
The ideal candidate should have three or more years of non-profit special event management, including the management of volunteers. Fund development experience, including online fundraising, is a plus. Must be able to anticipate event needs, discern work priorities, meet deadlines with little supervision and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. Experience planning and implementing Walk events is a plus. Must be proficient user of personal computer, Microsoft software applications and donor software systems.
